Power of a Positive Mindset, Healthy Body, Good Career and Great Family! - Self Help

Make having a positive mindset a habit.

Your life is the result of the mental habit you have formed -- the ways you have learned to think. To make any lasting change in your outer life, you must first change your thoughts -- your inner life. Negative thought habits are difficult to change, as is any bad habit.

First, change your vocabulary. Eliminate words like "can't," "won't" and "failure."

Second, perform one unselfish service each day. Doing something as simple as offering a ride home to a co-worker is a good start.

Third, stay away from chronic complainers and other negative people as much as possible.

Forth, make a list of the major traits, habits, attitudes and skills that will exemplify the ideal you.

Finally, remember your goal is to be fulfilled in your personal life and career at a mental, spiritual, physical, financial and social level.

Improve your Health (both physical and mental).

Improving and maintaining your physical health means doing all the things you know you should be doing but might not be doing. Eating right. Getting enough rest. Exercising regularly. Going to the doctor regularly. If your idea of nutrition is McDonalds you'd better think again. And if you can't hold yourself to these ideals you need to hire a personal trainer who will hold you accountable.

Tending to your mental health means everything from keeping your mind constantly stimulated (use it or lose it) to taking your vacations to avoid burnout. Just like your body your mind needs a mix of proper nourishment and rest.

Choosing a Career

Many people are taught today to go to school, get a job and you'll be set. My question is set for what? Have you really looked? If you go to school you will have to pay thousands of dollars to get a job. I say again that a JOB is all you get. You spend 8-10 hours a day with people you don't love. All you are doing at a job is helping the business owner make more money while he pays you little money. Don't get me wrong I think education is a wonderful thing, but I would rather spend the thousands of dollars building a business that I control. I would rather spend those extra 8-10 hours a day with my family, and build wealth for my business instead of someone else's. It costs $30,000 dollars or more depending on which school you go to in order to get a bachelors degree. You can easily spend $3,000-$5,000 on a home based business and make a 6 figure a year income in your first year. Go to school for a great education but don't go to school for a job; you will regret it as mos t of my friends have.

Family & Friends

The next step is to spend time with your spouse and children. Time spent with family members indicates the intensity of our commitment to them as valuable persons. I've heard it said "It's not the quantity but the quality of time you spend with a person that is important." However, I have learned that my family members do not always have their problems on my "quality" time. It takes quantity, as well as quality, to develop lasting relationships.

Have plenty of friends. Work on having several friends so that someone is always available when you would like companionship or support. Expect to have many friends because you are worth it. Relying on only one or two people puts too much pressure on everyone. Some people like to have more friends than others, so the number is really up to your own sense of what you need; a good goal for most people is to have five close friends.

If you focus on keeping a positive attitude on everything you do, you will attract better friends, a better career, a healthier lifestyle and a wonderful life. Good luck to all!
